Pondicherry Engineering College is an Institution promoted and fully funded by the Government of Puducherry. The College was started in 1984 under the VII Five Year Plan. It is an autonomous Institution for the purposes of administration, staff recruitment and College development and is managed by a Board of Governors. The College is affiliated to Pondicherry University, Pondicherry, for the academic purposes. The College has been growing from strength to strength since its inception. PEC is ranked 53 in Engineering Category by NIRF India Rankings 2018.

The November/December 2018 examination results for First year UG and PG students are published and available in IIS portal.
The revaluation results (except for First Year - new regulation) are displayed in the Notice Board, Office of the Controller of Examinations.
B.Tech. (autonomous) first semester students can apply for Retotaling/Revaluation of the answer scripts (Nov/Dec'18) on or before 20.2.2019. [Circular]

. PECOFES'19 was inaugurated by Nagaichuvai Minnal, Mr. M. SATHISH, Film Actor at 9.30 a.m. on 14.2.2019 in the PEC Auditorium.  Dr. K. Vivekanandan, the Dean (Students) welcomed the delegates and participants. Dr. P. Dananjayan, the Principal in his presidential address appreciated the organizers of the event for their meticulous planning and wished the three days of events a grand success and memorable for the students. Dr. G. Nagarajan, Professor, ECE introduced the profile of the Chief Guest. Mr. Sathish in his inaugural speech advised the students to enjoy the college life and put sincere efforts in learning the subjects for better career prospects. He has also pleaded the students to avoid smoking and drinking liquor to lead a healthy life. Dr. S. Jeevaantham, the Convenor (PECOFES) proposed vote of thanks. 
As part of PECOFES'19, a two days exhibit of antique coins, currency and palm scriptures was  held at the premises of the Central library. The antique materials were exhibited by Mr. T.N. GOBIRAMAN, Senior Mechanic, Dept. of Mechanical Engg.  who is also the founder President of the Thondai Mandala Numismatics Society. A large number of faculty, staff and students from PEC and other colleges visited this exhibition.
Le Banyan de PEC, a charitable society supported by the members of PEC Alumni organizes a series of Career Awareness Programme (CAP) for the benefit of students of PEC and other institutes in Puducherry since 2016. Mr. G. Sivakumar, Managing Director, Mbit Wireless, USA delivered a keynote talk on "Engineering Education/Entrepreneurship - Scopes, Challenges and Global/Indian Scenario" at the Seminar Hall PEC on Friday, the 8th February, 2019. The pre-final year students of the ECE, CSE and IT departments participated in this CAP and interacted with the speaker. Mr. Sivakumar is a proud alumnus of PEC-CSE (1995-1999) and has about 60+ patents to his credits. The event was co-sponsored by IEDC-PEC.
CURIOSO2K19: The Literary Club, PEC has charted out various events (oral, writing & group discussions) to be held between 18th February and 9th March, 2019. The UG and PG students of PEC are invited to register for the events to the Secretary, Lit Club for participation and possible winning of fabulous prizes.
For the attention of the PEC alumni graduated in the year 1994 (B.Tech./M.Tech./M.C.A): The PEC Alumni Association organizes Silver Jubilee Reunion every year. An organizing committee for the 1994 graduated alumni has been constituted. The reunion meet is scheduled to be held on 26th July, 2019.  [Read more...]
AICTE-QIP sponsored Short Term Courses for the year 2019 are scheduled to be held between the months of February and March, 2019. The Mechanical, Civil, EEE, CSE and Electronics & Communication Engineering departments have started receiving applications from the interested faculty and industry personnel pan India. On account of Women's day, Quiz competition event was conducted on 6.02.2019  for all the UG and PG students on the theme of Women  personalities across the world.  The event was coordinated by Dr. Kavithakumar / Department of CSE and Dr G Santi/Department of IT. A total of 44 students had participated. Dr. S. Saraswathy  / Department of IT and Dr. R Kalpana / Deparment  of CSE  were the judges of the event.
PEC-Google-Developer Students Club (DSC) has launched a new app compatible for Android mobile phones (available in Playstore) named PEC-INFO. This app helps the students and staff to have quick access to the news and events, details about department and IP&RP Cell. This app is developed by Mr. CS Koushik and Mr. Sam Benjamin, the student Leads of the club functioning in PEC. The PEC Yellow Pages app launched in the month of March, 2018 is updated to include a few admin staff and available in Playstore.
The prize distribution  ceremony  for the competition  on "Awareness of women legal rights and empowerment" was held on 31.01.2019. Principal Dr. P.  Dhananjayan,  distributed the cash prizes and certificates to the winners.
 Dr.  R.  Rajathy Convenor,  Women cell,  organized the event.
Intellectual Property Rights & Patenting Cell (IPRPC) of PEC has launched a portal for the benefits of the faculty and students (available under Cells, Clubs & Chapters tab). This portal will have guidelines, forms, procedures and workshop details regularly updated for the benefit of the PEC students, scholars and faculty members.
The Central Library, PEC has subscribed for perpetual access to 1640 titles of IEEE - Wiley and MIT press e-books. The faculty, staff, scholars and students can utilize this digital library facility through campus network.
